ANIME MONDAY 8/5/13

Hello & Welcome to ANIME MONDAY right here on UNLEASH THE FANBOY. It’s the first week of August and I, your humble host Marcell, has a good batch of anime to start your August off right. Secrets are brought to light in “Fairy Tail”, The killer is revealed in “Persona 4”, Kirito finally reunites with Asuna in “Sword Art Online”, Visitors come to Sindria in “Magi”, & The Survey Corps encounters the unthinkable in “Attack On Titan”. Let’s get started.

Fairy Tail – “To Keep From Seeing Those Tears”

“To Keep From Seeing Those Tears” is a fairly decent episode, but it really doesn’t pick up until the fight between Sol & Elfman. The action scenes are good, the animation remains somewhat consistent and the dramatic moments hit the notes they’re supposed to. The magic continues next week as the mission to stop the Abyss Break spell continues.

Attack On Titan – “Female Titan – 57th Expedition Behind The Walls Pt. 1”

“Female Titan” is definitely another strong addition to an equally strong anime. The suspense, action, and drama hit all cylinders and the mystery of the Female Titan adds intrigue to the story. With this new situation being brought to light many questions are brought to the forefront. Who is the Female Titan? Where did she come from? Can anyone stop her? What does she want with Eren? and most importantly, What will she do when she finds him?

Persona 4 The Animation – “The World is Full of S*it”

“The World is Full of Sh*t” is a pretty apt title for the episode as it does describe the killer’s view of the world. The reveal is well planned out and the events that led them down their path are pretty unsettling to look at. The investigation continues next week as the team looks to finally bring the murderer to justice.

Sword Art Online – “Gilded Hero”

“Gilded Hero” is not a very good conclusion to the arc and actually makes the entire ALO story look pretty week compared to Aincrad’s. While animation is crisp and boasted some good scenes, the are outweighed by the more glaring problems. The quest ends next week as we take a look at the final episode of SAO.

Magi: Labyrinth of Magic – “The Name of the Culprit is Sinbad”

While nothing really happens till the middle or so “The Name of The Culprit is Sinbad” proves to be a solid episode that introduces new plot points, characters, and mystery that is sure to keep viewers invested. The adventure continues next week as Hakuryu & Kougyoku try to adjust to life in Sindria.
