Kevin Smith Won’t Shut Up About The BATSUIT in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Kevin Smith just won’t shut up!

And in all fairness, neither would I if my best friend scored the role of everyone’s favorite black caped superhero in the Man of Steel sequel BATMAN VS SUPERMAN. I’m referring to Ben Affleck, of course. That newly cowled vigilante who also happens to be one of Kevin Smiths’ good buds.

Well, the chunky director/producer/writer/actor (referring to Smith, now) revealed everything short of a point-by-point breakdown of the suit in one of his newest fanboy speeches. Here’s what the big man said:

“It didn’t look like any of the cinematic Batmans that have ever gone before. He [Zack Snyder] shows me that picture and behind Batman…Superman in the suit looming in the distance. Both on a roof top kind of thing. It was on a set, a little set the put together for this photo shoot. So I was like ‘Oh my god! Is that the suit?! The suit looks amazing! Did you get people to model it?’ And he goes, ‘That’s your boy.’ And I look closely and it’s Ben Affleck wearing the suit. The suit, it is not mine to spill, in terms of what it looks like, you’ll see it. They’ll tell you when they want you to know, but any Batman fan is going to be F—ing pleased. I’m going to tell you that right now. They gave you the suit you all wanted to see.”

Well then, I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. According to all of the latest gossip, the suit should borrow heavily from the Noel story arc, placing a very large Batsignal brooch across Affleck’s chest. We’ve also heard that the suit will be very tactical, but slightly less “body armor-ey”, like Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY suits.

Based on that bit, I’m imagining a suit nearly as intricate as Iron Man’s (at a purely superficial level, of course), with gray and black colors, and an iconic Batsignal brooch instead of the traditional, decorative insignia.
