Joseph Gordon-Levitt Continues To Steal All The Cool Roles, Officially Cast in SIN CITY : A DAME TO KILL FOR

I don’t want to claim Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a greedy little actor… ahhh, f*ck it. He’s greedy! He started off fine and dandy in his recent surge to stardom. His comfy supporting role in Inception was well warranted, and he proved to be a great addition to the cast. Though, if you watched carefully enough, you could see a small twinkle in his eye that screamed “I’m gonna take all the cool roles for myself!”. And as if one Nolan movie wasn’t enough, he was cast to play Robin in The Dark Knight Rises, which is more than enough awesome sauce for one actor’s lifetime (especially since he’ll probably play the Caped Crusader in the Justice League movie). Now, JGL has secured himself a starring role in SIN CITY : A DAME TO KILL FOR. It’s as if he’s actually an amazing actor or something.

**End Sarcasm**

All kidding aside, this is great news for the franchise. I hate to admit it, but I’ve been wary of this sequel for some time, whether for its frequent delays or shaky cast (Mickey Rourke is one hell of a loose cannon). With Gordon-Levitt in the mix, we’ll at least have one solid performance, and his particular role as a vindictive gambler sounds particularly insane.

Check out the press release for more info:

New York, NY January 7, 2013 – Dimension Films announced today that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (LOOPER, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) is joining the all-star cast as one of the lead characters in the highly anticipated SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. The film is the follow up to co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s 2005 visually groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY. Other major casting announcements will continue to follow.

Gordon-Levitt will play “Johnny,” a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game.

“Johnny is a new character in the Sin City world and we are excited for what Joseph will bring to the role,” said Rodriguez and Miller.

So there you have it. What do you think of the news? Excited? Meh?

You know you can’t wait to see this sick moves on the silver screen…
