DC unveils new Before Watchmen variant covers

DC revealed seven variant covers for both current and upcoming Before Watchmen releases. The art is done by seasoned comic book artists Jim Steranko, Steve Rude, Paul Pope, Tim Bradstreet, Jim Lee, Cliff Chiang and David Finch.

Whether you were for or against these prequels to the 1986 mini-series, the Before Watchmen line is here to stay, especially considering that the first releases: Before Watchmen: Minutemen #1 (you can read our review here), Before Watchmen: Comedian #1 (you can read our review here), Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #1 (you can read our review here) and Before Watchmen: Nite Owl #1 (you can read our review here) all sold over 100,000 copies each and landed in Diamond Comic’s top 10  (you can check-out the breakdown for comic sales in June here).

So what do you guys think?  Are these variant covers worth picking up or are they just a waste of money?  Are you enjoying Before Watchmen and if so what’s your favorite title so far?  If not, why not?  Sound off with your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
