How an Evangelion Movie Should Look

Fan films have taken a HUGE leap in the past few years. I remember when they were comprised of your typical group of high school misfits, dressed in the finest cardboard armor, battling for supremacy in their parents’ backyard… or tried to, at least. Since then, we’ve seen no shortage of top grade fan flicks. From the recent Skyrim deluge to the more robust world of “Sweded” parodies, fanboys have stepped up their game!

Well, here’s another film to throw into the “Oh Gawd it’s so good!” pile. Inspired by the classic anime Evangelion, a British crew of designers and actors broke open their piggy banks, scrounged up $1200, and made an amazingly gritty and disturbing futuristic short. Check out this flick known as In God We Trust below…

Here’s some more information about the video from the film makers…

“In God We Trust” imagine a near future in which society is on the brink of collapse due to the Earth’s deteriorating environment. Multinational corporations and international governments have merged to form a small number of elite corporate power groups, each vying for ultimate power and control over the remaining populace.

The story revolves around a momentous discovery made by high-ranking research scientist Piotr Drabik. Employed by a corporate entity known only as “ORTUS”, Drabik believes that his research has enabled him to make direct contact with God. Chilling revelations are uncovered as Drabik discovers the true nature of God’s will.

As rumours spread, shady elements within ORTUS orchestrate Drabik’s abduction in an attempt to subvert the end of days and realise their own nefarious ambitions. All the while, the highest echelons of the church are acutely aware of God’s true will.
