MIRRORS EDGE 2 In Production – Alive and Kicking

Mirror’s Edge 2 was officially announced in 2009, but since then EA has been tight lipped on any news of the sequel to popular first person parkour shoot-em-up. Today, Ben Cousins from ngmoco Sweden confirmed that

It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE

Apparently this has been the state of affairs for quite some time now. DICE are most well known for their work on the Battlefield franchise and with Battlefield 4 on the horizon, there was thought they might become a one franchise factory. It’s worth noting that this has no evidence to back it up, but given the frequency of murmurs about this game, it’s more than likely true.

More of this please, EA!

DICE themselves have commented on the game, with executive producer, Patrick Bach, at DICE saying that the license was “too good to kill”. It certainly seems like it’s in the works. Perhaps the lack of mention and the Battlefield 4 beta in late 2013 suggest that Mirror’s Edge 2 could be a next generation game.

What do you think, excited to see more from Faith? The first game had it’s flaws but was a great experience overall and given some love and potentially a whole new set of toys to play with, it could be great.
