KING DEDEDE Brings His Mallet to Next SUPER SMASH BROS.

We’re only in the first week of 2014 Smash Bros. updates, but we already have our next character confirmation – King Dedede, that roly-poly penguin…thing, who also happens to be a king, and Kirby’s arch-nemesis. And of course, he still has his crazy mallet, which is something you don’t want to get hit by.

King Dedede is the 21st confirmed character, and the second Kirby character in the roster. The news isn’t too surprising (Dedede was previously in Brawl), and the news isn’t as exciting as Rosalina’s, but Dedede certainly had fans. After all, he was possibly the biggest power hitter in the previous installment.

Unfortunately, his screenshots don’t seem to show any new attacks or abilities. Many returning characters are getting at least one, so I’m sure that Dedede will have a surprise up his sleeve, but its disappointing that we don’t even get a glimpse…

Meanwhile, the Smash Bros. website has given confirmation that the Wii U and 3DS version of the game will feature different collectible trophies, with the Wii U version focusing on console, and the 3DS version on handhelds. So if you want your Pikmin trophies, but the Wii U version, and want your March of the Minis trophies, get 3DS.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS will be available for said consoles sometime later this year. Will you buy it for King Dedede?
