Why Haven’t You Bought the New Pokemon Yet?

Pokemon Banner

The game has been out for a little over a week now, and it is great! Nothing ever can beat nostalgia mixed with the brand new aspects in gaming. This game honestly blew my expectations out of the water. Not only was it seamlessly translated onto the 3DS, but it didn’t throw in too many gimmicks that it was obnoxious. Overall the game was beautiful on the system and kept everything that we already loved about Pokemon. So why haven’t you gotten it yet?

I like Pokemon, but I haven’t played the new ones.

That is the worst excuse you could come up with. The stories are not linked. Like at all. Ignoring the old games does not hurt your time playing X and Y. In fact it might make it more exciting because you’ll be surprised by more “new” Pokemon. Playing X and Y  are far from playing something like Assassin’s Creed 4. You don’t need any old knowledge to understand and appreciate the game.

Pokemon ran out of ideas

F&^# you. Pokemon always have ideas. Now I’ll be the first to admit some of their ideas may not be the “coolest,” but screw it.

Klefki

Ok, but is Grimer so much cooler?

They came out with well over 40 new Pokemon purely for our enjoyment. While a couple of these Pokemon aren’t exactly amazing, they did really well over all. Every generation has had it’s dumb Pokemon, but that goes all the way back to the first games. Voltorb is just a ball, and Grimer is just a pile… Not every Pokemon is a gem, but they are all awesome. Except Trubbish. F%*^ Trubbish.

It’s just too complicated

No it really isn’t. There are ways that they added to make this game way more

You really think this guy needs the perfect nature to be a monster?

complicated, but overall the game is SO easy. You can talk all you want about natures, and EVs, and stats; but the amount of time you actually spend with that during your game play through is entirely dependent on you. There is not a single time, in game, where you have to worry about any of these. Those are all for us meta-gamers who want to battle people after the game is over. The game is easy enough for a 5 year old to pick up and play, and you are sitting here telling me it’s to hard for you? Seriously?

Pokemon is for kids

I won’t even dignify this lie with a real response.

The 3DS is too expensive

OK, I won’t really argue here. It is a pretty penny to buy the equipment needed to play this game, but I will say it is worth it. Besides Pokemon the 3DS has a lot of Mario games, The Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, and will get the new Super Smash Bros. Some of these games are the greatest of all time! Really it is worth the buy.
