THE FLASH Finds Itself a WALLY WEST!

While The Flash focuses on Barry Allen, that doesn’t mean that some of the other guys who have worn the mask won’t be popping up in the second season. Jay Garrick will be appearing played by Teddy Sears in a major role, and Wally West has finally been cast – news has broken that Insurgent actor Keiynan Lonsdale will be playing him on the show!

There’s already one West on the show; Iris, his aunt. I don’t watch The Flash but just from a brief Google search it seems as if the relation between the two characters may be tweaked a little. In the comics she’s his aunt however actress Candice Patton is 27 in real life whereas Lonsdale is 23; it’s not impossible (she could just have a much older sister) but I wouldn’t be shocked if they made them cousins or something like that.

“Just like when we met Grant for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero,” said exec producer Andrew Kreisberg. “We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”

Lonsdale joins a long line of recent casting additions to the CW/DC universe. The other day we brought you the news that Hawkman had been cast for Legends of Tomorrow, and yesterday it was revealed that the villainous Vandal Savage will be played by actor Casper Crump.

If that’s not perfect casting then I don’t know what to tell you.

The Flash is back on October 6th. You can probably expect some more casting announcements for these shows by the end of the week.
