Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is the prologue to Justice League. End of story. The sooner you accept that, the better. The question now is how the DC’s most famous heroes will be involved. Obviously the Man of Steel and Caped Crusader will be the main characters, Wonder Woman will have a supporting role, Victor Stone will appear in some capacity and now latest buzz is that the other heroes will cameos to set them up for Justice League. Hitfix recently revealed how Aquaman may appear, and now potential details on The Flash’s cameo have been released as well.
One of the many shooting locations for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is the Lakepoint Market in Keego Harbor, Michigan, where there was some filming done on May 15. Though the details of the scene are secret, there was speculation that the store was being used for a robbery scene. Now, The Daily Superhero has not only confirmed the robbery, but also how the Scarlet Speedster will be involved.
During the convenient store robbery a sudden “flash of wind” is seen in the security camera footage and revealed to me as being a cameo tease for the Flash.
Since filming on May 15 only lasted about four hours, whatever they shot there clearly wasn’t anything long or elaborate. If this is indeed the Flash’s cameo (which hasn’t been confirmed) it’s a clever, if on-the nose, way to set up him up. Obviously the general audience isn’t as familiar with him as Batman or Superman, but even they’ll recognize it’s him. Well, that, or they’ll draw the incorrect assumption that it’s the guy with the silver jacket from X-Men: Days of Future Past. Then begins the long conversation with the guy sitting next to you over the difference between Marvel and DC Comics. Pray that never happens.
This also has me wondering whether the other JL members will have cameos similar to this. Perhaps Batman or someone in the government is looking through footage of metahuman appearances, like Green Lantern flying through the sky and Aquaman popping up in the Indian Ocean. With three of the most important superheroes of all time leading this film, we don’t want too much attention drawn to the other heroes, but these brief snippets would serve the purpose of getting the audience ready for their proper debut.
And hey, just imagine how many YouTube views these sightings are getting. Maybe The Flash security footage was leaked Solange Knowles-style and got 1,000,000 views on the first day.
