Arrow has been doing well incorporating comic Green Arrow’s rogues gallery into the show, and luckily for us another enemy has been added. Making his first appearance in episode 14, Robert Knepper will debuting as William Tockman, a.k.a. The Clock King. According to TV Line, the Arrow version of Clock King “has earned his nickname being a brilliant criminal who plans his crimes with the utmost precision, down to the second.” The episode will also feature the return of Alex Kingston as Dinah Lance, Laurel’s mother and Quentin’s ex-wife.

Knepper is no stranger to playing villains. Most famous for playing T-Bag in Prison Break, Knepper has also appeared as earth-mover Samuel Sullivan in Heroes, and can currently be seen as Sid Rothman in TNT’s Mob City.

Interestingly enough, this will be the second live-action iteration of the character, who first appeared in the 1960s Batman series played by Walter Slezak. He also appeared in animated form in Batman: The Animated Series (with his alter-ego instead being named Temple Fugate), Justice League Unlimited, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

My only experience with Knepper was seeing him in season 4 of Heroes, and while the show itself was on a downward spiral, I really liked how he played the character. With the recent death of The Count several episodes ago, I’m glad they brought another Green Arrow villain into the mix, and ideally they won’t kill him off in his first appearance. With a talent like Knepper, one would hope he doesn’t clock out too early…my apologies for the bad pun.
