New Trailer for star wars episode 1 in 3d…but who cares?

The new trailer for the little-anticipated re-release of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 3D has officially dropped and the question fanboys all over the globe are asking is…why?  WHY!!!?!?!?

Why does George Lucas think re-releasing one of the biggest disappointments in film history would be a good idea?  I mean…besides the obvious advantages of duping millions of movie goers  into spending $15 at their local multi-plex for this mangled catastrophe.

The 3D conversion of The Phantom Menace will begin Lucas’s final “Star Wars” assault on the silver screen.  All six episodes will be converted and released over the course of the next several years in a staged attempt to infuriate fans everywhere.  Although Lucas hasn’t revealed concrete opening dates, it seems like at least two films will be released each year.

Check out the trailer below:

The Phantom Menace is widely regarded as one of the most terrible travesties to ever befall fanboy-dom but let’s be honest with each other, we’ll all probably end up seeing it.   It’s “Star Wars”…was there ever really an option?
