Booyakasha! TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Renewed for Third Season!

Nickelodeon moves fast! Yesterday, at Nickelodeon’s upfront in New York City, the announcement was made that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series had been renewed for a third season….and season two hasn’t even aired yet!

The latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which is the third animated series in the popular franchise, premiered on Nickelodeon September 29, 2012. The new incarnation is the first TMNT series to be fully animated via CGI.

The series stars Jason Biggs, Rob Paulsen, Sean Astin, and Greg Cipes as Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo respectively. Mae Whitman voices April O’Neil, Hoon Lee voices Splinter, and Kevin Michael Richardson voices the Shredder.

The new TMNT series has been getting good reception and pretty high ratings, so a renewal isn’t too surprising. The first two animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series ran for a long time. Maybe this one will also last for at least seven years! That would be refreshing, since nowadays, most cartoons don’t seem to last that long at all…
