The Batfleck Rises Again! New Batman Closeup for BATMAN V SUPERMAN

There’s a Batman out there for everyone, and that’s especially true on his 75th anniversary. Currently at the San Diego Comic-Con, there is a montage wall of all the different interpretations of The Dark Knight in his 3/4’s of a century lifetime, from comic books to movies to cartoons. However, there’s one picture that is sticking out to the fans. An image unlike the rest because it’s from…the future! That’s right, hidden in all these different photos and illustrations is a new look as Ben Affleck as Batman in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and don’t worry, this isn’t another black and white picture. This baby’s in color and close up. Check it out!

Now that’s what I’m talking about! While we saw the cowl in the first official image, it’s good to see it nice and up close. I’m still digging the short ears, and now it’s perfectly clear that the outside of the costume is covered by a cloth material. Best of all, check out that stubble! They weren’t kidding when they said that the Batfleck would be weary and war-hardened. He can’t even bother with a razor anymore. He’s too busy fighting the superstitious and cowardly lot of Gotham City! Man, this Batman may be more brooding than the last one. Oh, and that cleft chin? Good Lord…

On another note, yesterday, Dan Didio tweeted out a picture of the Batfleck’s mask and cowl that’s on display at Comic-Con right now, which confirmed that the film will not be featuring a blue and gray suit, and confirming yet again its influence from The Dark Knight Returns.

It’s worth noting that although at first it looks like another Bat costume where Bruce won’t be able to turn his head, the cowl does look like it’s a separate piece from the cape. Maybe there will be some limited movement? When engaging a Kryptonian alien with super strength, flight and heat vision, head movement is a necessity.
