ANIME MONDAY 7/15/13

Hello & Welcome to a special LATE NIGHT edition of ANIME MONDAY (well less “special” and more “late”) right here on UNLEASH THE FANBOY. As always I am your host Marcell and we have a nice selection of anime for you tonight. The guild goes to war in “FAIRY TAIL”, The case gets back on track in “PERSONA 4”, Asuna mounts an escape in “SWORD ART ONLINE”, Cassim attacks in “MAGI”, & “ATTACK ON TITAN” returns with Eren being put on trial. Now let’s get started.

Fairy Tail – “The Phantom Lord”

“The Phantom Lord” is a pretty good introduction into the next arc of the anime. The conflict is set up well and the antagonists are an even match for Fairy Tail. We meet a bunch of new characters and we also get a bit of development for some. The magic continues next week as Fairy Tail continues their fight with Phantom Lord.

Attack On Titan – “Still Can’t See – Night Before the Counteroffensive Pt. 1”

“Still Can’t See” is another stellar episode in a pretty well done series. Character introductions, drama, violence, it’s all here wrapped up in a nice package. The new arc is starting off well and it will be nice to see where things go from here. The war to survive continues next week as Eren officially joins the Survey Corps.

Persona 4 The Animation – “DON’T SAVE ANYONE ANYMORE”

“DON’T SAVE ANYONE ANYMORE” is a solid episode as the show begins to march its way to its conclusion. The mystery is still there, the culprit is identified, and the case hits home for Yu. Not a dull moment in this episode. The investigation continues next week as the team goes inside the TV to save Nanako.

Sword Art Online – “The Truth of ALfheim”

While boasting some nice development for Suguha & Kazuto, “The Truth of ALfheim” isn’t as good as earlier episodes. This is mostly due to the lack of action and Asuna’s scenes. While she does retain some cleverness, she is almost completely demeaned in this episode. The quest continues next week as Kirito races to see Asuna.

Magi: Labyrinth of Magic – “Solomon’s Wisdom”

“Solomon’s Wisdom” is an alright episode, but altogether it can be quite boring. The lack of music doesn’t really add to the drama and causes the episode to drag in places. The animation is fairly consistent however, and the action scenes are done well enough. The adventure continues next week as Alibaba tries to save Cassim.
