ANIME MONDAY 6/3/13

Hello & Welcome to the first ANIME MONDAY of June right here on UNLEASH THE FANBOY, I’m your host Marcell & we have a nice little load of anime to dump into your laps today. Gray’s past is explored in “FAIRY TAIL”, The Garrison turns their guns on Eren in “ATTACK ON TITAN”, Yu & his friends have a little too much fun in “PERSONA 4”, Kazuto Kirigaya AKA Kirito tries to readjust to the real world in “SWORD ART ONLINE”, & Another Magi appears in “MAGI”. Let’s get started.

Fairy Tail – “Eternal Magic”

“Eternal Magic” gives us a nice little peak into Gray’s past as well as the resolve he needs to take out Lyon. Ur is a pretty good character and it was a shame to see her gone so early. Lyon’s own development is explored and it is nice to see how he became the “Cold Emperor”. The magic continues next week as Gray & Lyon begin Round 2.

Attack On Titan – “Where The Left Arm Went – Defense of Trost Pt. 5

While not being as good as last episode “Where The Left Arm Went” is still a good episode that fills in a few holes for us. While the explanation of how Eren became a Titan is a bit rushed and confusing it still manages to be a nice little reveal and leaves some avenues for Eren’s development, as he has become what he’s sworn to kill. The war between Man & Monster continues next week as Eren & his friends decide what to do with his new found ability.

Persona 4 The Animation – “The Long Awaited School Trip”

Despite being my favorite episode, “The Long Awaited School Trip” isn’t really an episode that is too important to the main plot. A nice little diversion with some nice character bits, fan service, and plenty of humor. The mystery continues next week as Naoto begins to dig further into the supposedly closed case.

Sword Art Online – “Return

“Return” is a nice episode that introduces new characters, expands the world, and gives us another mystery to solve. Things are set up well enough and the reveal t the end of the episode is good enough to leave the audience wanting more. The game starts next week as Kazuto races to save Asuna.

Magi: Labyrinth of Magi – “His Name is Judar”

“His Name Is Judar is a pretty action centric episode in it’s later half. We get an intro to a new antagonist as well as some more development on Aladdin & Ugo. The battle between the two Magi was a good one, even if the animation slacked at times. The adventure continues next week as the battle with Judar continues.
