ANIME MONDAY 5/27/13

Hello & Welcome to the special Memorial Day edition of ANIME MONDAY here on UNLEASH THE FANBOY. I am your humble host Marcell and as always we have a healthy cup of anime to start your Monday & Memorial Day off right. Lucy faces off against Sherry in “FAIRY TAIL”, The trainess fight to take back their HQ in “ATTACK ON TITAN”, Yu has a very hectic summer vacation in “PERSONA 4”, The world of Aincrad comes to an end in “SWORD ART ONLINE”,  & The Fog Troop attacks in “MAGI”. Let’s get started.

Fairy Tail – “Just Do Whatever!!”

“Just Do Whatever!!” is another decently paced episode, it gives the audience a small breather but also squeezes in some drama, action, and a tinge of humor for good measure. While the animation quality can be pretty lax at times, it’s not too distracting. The adventure continues next week as Natsu continues battling against Lyon.

Attack on Titan – “Hearing the Heartbeat – Defense of Trost Pt. 4”

“Hearing the Heartbeat” is another great episode that boasts great action & even greater drama. Characters are once again fleshed out, Titans are taken out in spectacular fashion, the emotional scenes really grip you, and while the animation quality isn’t as high as usual, it is still far from mediocre. The fight to survive continues next week as the Garrison decides what to do with Eren.

Persona 4 The Animation – “A Stormy Summer Vacation 2/2”

“A Stormy Summer Vacation 2/2” is another little diversion until the story itself starts to pick back up. There are few dramatic scenes but there is definitely much more humor. Yu is given more of a chance to shine without his friends as a buffer so it was nice to see what he could do on his own. Summer Vacation comes to a close next week when the kids go on a school trip.

Sword Art Online – “The End of the World”

“The End of The World” is a very fitting title for the end of this arc. With plenty of reveals and heart breaking as well as heart touching moments to keep you invested until the end. The animation is crisp and the drama is very real. Next week, with the fight for survival now over, Kirito tries to readjust  to the real world.

Magi: Labyrinth of Magic – “A Prince’s Responsibility”

“A Prince’s Responsibility” is another solid episode what has a good amount of character drama and some very light humor. The action scenes are well done, even if the animation is a bit lacking at times. The magic continues next week as Alibaba tries to change Balbadd & Aladdin encounters another Magi.
