Zack Snyder Wants To Watch A TIM BURTON Superman

I’ve always thought that Tim Burton’s ill-fated Superman project would’ve been an interesting silver screen endeavor, and apparently I’m not the only one. Zack Snyder, the man responsible for reviving the Big Blue Boyscout in this summer’s MAN OF STEEL, is actually pretty intrigued by the idea of a Burtonized Last Son of Krypton.

Well, of course the Tim Burton version would have been interesting to see I think, just because it would have been completely different from what we did. That would have been fun.

If you’re not familiar with that project, allow me to illuminate… Long ago, when Michael Keaton was still beneath the cowl of the Dark Knight and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ruled the world, Warner Bros. decided that they should capitalize on the public’s interest in comic book movies with a Superman reboot. They hired Kevin Smith (yes, the fat bearded glorious fanboy we all know and love… and kinda hate because he’s whiny) to construct a magnificent script based on the Death of Supes and the studio soon tapped Burton to direct.

Well, as with all of that madman’s directing gigs, this one was a little odd, especially since he chose Nicolas Cage to star as Clark Kent (another weird factoid about the movie: Superman became best friends with his suit). The project was never finished for various reasons, which is a bit of a shame, since it would’ve been an interesting addition to the Superman franchise.
