“X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST” Set Displays Artifacts

Whether it’s vague images of the cast or shots of the Sentinels at work, the pictures just keep coming and coming from the set of “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” This morning, director Bryan Singer tweeted a picture that displayed a set of props from the previous film. From left to right, we have the coin that Magneto used to kill Sebastian Shaw, the vest Havok used to control his ability, Magneto’s first helmet, and what appears to be one of Angel Salvadore’s wings. That last one seems a little gross, am I wrong?

With all of these items behind glass displays, is Singer hinting that there will be an X-Men museum in the next movie? Perhaps Professor X, Magneto and the other mutants have gathered together different artifacts that showcases the events of the past. It’s difficult to say without knowing if there will be any items from the original X-Men movies, like Professor X’s wheelchair.

One thing that occurs to me is that if Havok’s vest is on display, does this mean he eventually learns to control his ability? I remember seeing a brief shot from the commercials of “X-Men: First Class” where he shot one of his beams out of his hand. This wasn’t included in the film, but it would make sense if in the ten year-gap between “First Class” and “Days of Future Past” he finally got a handle on how to control his power. Sure, his vest could have just been upgraded, but that doesn’t allow for much development.

Ugh, these teasing images are infuriating! Singer, just release a trailer already! Not all of us were lucky enough to be at the San Diego Comic-Con.
