The WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER Has an Opening Date!!

Muggleborns unite! Of course Purebloods and Half-bloods are welcomed as well! No discrimination here! We all share the same interest and this is not only because we were devastated when we never received our Hogwarts letter (not like I’m bitter or anything), but come on, I DID MY WAITING! TWELVE YEARS OF IT! Okay, more than that really, but sir-ius-ly (see what I did there?) after years of waiting, it finally happened!

Universal Studio has finally announced that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and all of its gloriousness is set to open three days before my actual birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Well, not yet but I’ll take it! The Hollywood Reporter says,

“Wizarding World California has been in development since 2011. The Florida version opened in 2010 and has been credited with boosting attendance at the park, which jumped 17 percent year-over-year to 8.3 million visitors in 2014.”

It is safe to say that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been more than a little late to come to California. Better late than never I suppose. The amusement park is a bit smaller than the one in Orlando Florida but can’t complain.

We have been more than ready for this amusement park. Just be sure to be ready for any spells incase of a dementor attack.

According to the Examiner, the production designer Stuart Craig replies,

“Opening in Hollywood will be the Wizarding World’s ultimate test. Hollywood is the home of movie magic. Hollywood understands what this takes and will be our most informed critic.”

Honestly, our fellow Potter fans all over the world will unintentially criticize to see how well the park is made and if they feel immersed into the world we so longed to be in. Once we stop fan girling and the excitement has set in the fans will be hopeful that this park stays true to the movies but most importantly the books themselves. Check out the T.V. commercial used, enjoy.

Even though it is going to be a bit smaller than the one in Orlando, Florida the attractions will include the Hogsmead Village, the Forbidden Journey, outdoor rollercoaster, a 3D quidditch themed ride, a town hall, and the flight of the Hippogriff and of course being able to buy the delicious butterbeer.

According to the Examiner, there are also eight retail locations including Honeydukes, Ollivanders Wand shop, Owl Post, Zonko’s joke shop, and a few others. Let’s hope Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes joke shop is in the amusement park. Of course, we wouldn’t see the twins, or in this case we wouldn’t see Fred (tear) in the joke shop but we would love to have their brilliant jokes and pranks.

“Hogwarts houses the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction, where visitors will sport Quidditch-inspired 3-D goggles for the elevated track screen ride. The Los Angeles attraction will be in 3D-HD for the first time.”

Now the only thing missing are the actors themselves don’t you think? Imagine seeing Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) in the park?

Be sure to trade in your muggle money for wizard gold in April. You can bet to see me in line on April 7, 2016 when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open.

Fellow Classmates, we are home.
