The Lady GHOSTBUSTERS Assemble and Look Cool as Hell

Back when it was announced that Paul Feig would be directing a Ghostbusters reboot featuring a bunch of women, fanboys cried out. “But I’m afraid of women!,” they screeched, raising their Doritos-encrusted fingers in revolt. The movie recently started filming and, naturally, a ton of set photos have come through. Guess what? It all looks pretty good. However, we haven’t gotten a look at what the new team will look like – until now.

A very helpful fan on the NeoGAF forums got into the set of the movie and managed to snap some photos, including one of the whole team suited up and ready for action. Well, maybe not that last part.

They’re very plain-looking; I love it.

It would have been easy to make the rebooted franchise very high-tech; glossy Apple-store Proton Packs, guns attached to their suits, the lot. The heart of Ghostbusters lies in its clumsiness and shoddyness, I feel. It should look as if they cobbled all of their equipment together from spare parts and they shouldn’t wear fancy costumes, so the grey jumpsuits are very effective. That being said, I will still always prefer the original outfits.

Kate McKinnon’s hair even looks a little like Harold Ramis’.
