Texas Chainsaw 3D to Get Sequel?

Texas Chainsaw 3D is barely even out in theaters, and already a sequel seems to be heading our way. Despite negative reviews (as of January 6, 2013, the film only has a 22% on Rotton Tomatoes), the film has already earned over over 10 million dollars in just two days. And apparently, the people behind this film have contracts for six more films. If this film does well enough, we could be seeing a whole new horror franchise. Move over, Saw, Chainsaw is here.

Texas Chainsaw 3D is the seventh film in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre slasher film series. However, the plot takes place after the original, which was released way back in October 1974, and was directed by Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist). The new film is directed by John Luessenhop (Takers), and stars Richard T. Jones and Gabriel Casseus. Antagonist Leatherface is played by Dan Yeager, making his big screen debut.

I have no intention of watching Texas Chainsaw 3D, or its sequel. They’re not my kind of film, and I spend the whole thing rooting for the villain. But how about you? Do you think a sequel is a good idea? Or do you think that the sequel will be bad, like what happened with Paranormal Activity?
