Rachel McAdams Confirmed to Star in MARVEL’S DOCTOR STRANGE

Marvel is pretty busy with not only Captain America: Civil War and Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2 starting production in 2016, however one still on the cards for filming this year is Doctor Strange. Rachel McAdams had previously been linked to the female lead in the magical flick, and she’s now confirmed she’s in it!

However, who she will be playing exactly remains a mystery. There have been two theories…

The first is Clea, daughter of prince Orin and mistress of the Dark Dimension.

The second one is Morgana Blessing, where she varied from a friend to a foe to Doctor Strange over the years.

She might just also play someone from the mystical element of the movie who we haven’t seen or heard of yet. Benedict Cumberbatch is the titular doctor, and joining the pair will be Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor who will play the villainous Baron Mordo (as well as Mads Mikkelsen – maybe).

Since Scott Derrickson is the director, it will be different from the rest of the superhero world. This will have more of a sci-fi/fantasy element to it, and maybe even a bit of horror which is what Derrickson is known for doing. It shouldn’t be too grim though since Ben Davis who previously worked on Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron will be working on Doctor Strange and even some of the details of the film. He says:

“Most of the work within it is about other dimensions. And I described it, I think, when I was talking to Marvel as Marvel’s Fantasia, in a way, because it’s so sort of out there and different to everything else that they’ve done.”
