PIXAR STAR WARS Movie On Its Way

Well, I guess this was a given. Considering Disney recently purchased Lucasfilms and the rights to Star Wars, everyone pretty much assumed a Pixar movie was inevitable. Like, if Disney ever ran out of ideas for their Star Wars flicks, they’d just give Pixar a ring and say “We’d like to make a ton of money. Make a Star Wars movie. Make sure to include every adorable interstellar creature you can find. That is all”.

According to recent reports, this Pixar Star Wars movie will happen sooner rather than later. Which is weird.

Kathleen Kennedy already promised a Star Wars movie every year starting in 2015, and she’s only stated that they’ll be comprised of 3 new Trilogy flicks and 3 spinoffs. What if one of those spinoffs, which we were all so excited for, is an animated Pixar flick? And I love Pixar as much as the next 90’s kid, but I don’t want to sacrifice a live action Boba Fett movie for an animated adventure. You know, if that’s even something they’re considering.

This isn’t the first time that Disney has utilized one of their new fanboy acquisitions for a Pixar-like featured film. Disney’s own animation wing is leading the charge on a Marvel Asian superhero flick Big Hero 6. Which really kinda sticks it to DC, since they’re not only behind on their diversity, but also since fanboys often forgive DC’s lack of cinematic prowess by citing their success with animated films, and Marvel’s now knocking on their door.

But back to the main story… a Pixar Star Wars movie. Who will star? What era? Are we talking Clone Wars? Civil War? New Republic?
