Surprise! Dinklage Isn’t Puck, But The Main Villain in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

As soon as Bryan Singer announced Peter Dinklage was cast in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, the collective fandom hivemind reduced his involvement to one role: Puck. You know… that lovable, bouncy, 3 foot wonder from Alpha Flight, Canada’s B-List Avengers rip off.

I hope this is awesome, but I imagine it’ll be like an awkward bastard of Iron Man and Optimus Prime

Our quick leap in logic was obviously driven by Dinklage’s halfman persona (don’t worry, it’s a Game of Thrones reference) which is a bit sizeist of us, if that’s even a word. But in Variety‘s recent scoop, they’ve learned Dinklage will play the movie’s main baddie. So… who could he be?

Bryan Singer’s been publicly mulling over the plot specifics, enjoying his return to the forefront of nerd news after the embarrassing results of Superman Returns, and his Tweets might reveal more about the casting. He’s stated an interest in creating a completely CGI character, which could easily indicate a motion capture performance from Dinklage. Will he play a mutie hunting Sentinel?

Personally, I think Tyrion would be best as a Government agent in the dystopian future, hunting Magneto and his cohorts with giant purple death machines. Although, I have a funny feeling that this whole dimension hopping affair is leading up to an epic reveal, on par with Thanos’s Herman Cain moment after The Avengers.

Imagine if Bryan Singer’s version of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST was orchestrated by this guy…
