New Frontrunners For Star-Lord In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Revealed

A few weeks back it was revealed that actors Jack Huston, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, Jim Sturgess and Joel Edgerton had all signed deals to screen test for the role of Star-Lord/Peter Quill in Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, with James Marsden, Garrett Hedland and Sullivan Stapleton were reportedly all said to be under Marvel’s radar.

Now, trade paper Variety has revealed that the search is down to just two names. Jim Sturgess (who screen tested) and Zachary Levi, who will be playing the role of Fandral in Thor: The Dark WorldAdditionally, the publication go on to say that an unnamed third actor may be tested after Christmas.

Despite Levi already having a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio are apparently very impressed with his Star-Lord test and “open to continuing their relationship.” However, this news has already been met with a lot of outcry from fans who don’t want the same actor playing two major roles in a shared universe. Levi certainly isn’t my third choice, but I’ll have to wait and see who the third actor is before deciding who is my favourite.
