Marion Cotillard Chats Miranda Tate In The Dark Knight Rises

As you’re probably aware, Marion Cotillard (one of the actors that Christopher Nolan took with him from Inception) is playing a business partner of Bruce Wayne’s, Miranda Tate, in The Dark Knight Rises, and that she’s heavily rumored to actually be playing Talia al Ghul, love interest of Bruce Wayne in the comics and the ace Arkham games. (Although Tate is a love interest in TDKR anyway, as proved by trailer 3.) And no matter how many times that people insist that Cotillard isn’t playing Talia al Ghul, the rumor has persisted (Kinda reminds me of the Skrulls rumour for The Avengers). However, Cotillard might just have said the final word on the matter.

Chatting to The Hollywood Reporter, Cotillard confirmed that Tate is not Talia al Ghul, and revealed a few new tidbits about her character:

Cotillard confirms that, contrary to some fans’ belief, she does not play Talia, the vengeful daughter of Liam Neeson’s character, Ra’s Al Ghul (who also appeared in Batman Begins), and that she takes the role of Miranda Tate, an ecologically minded businesswoman who “is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She’s a good guy.” But does she stay that way? “Yes,” she insists.

The Dark Knight Rises hits cinemas and IMAX on July 20.
