Post-Fast And Furious director Justin Lin has been trying his hardest to land another franchise gig. He’s been attached to projects such as Terminator 5 and Highlander, only to exit months later. Deadline have announced that Universal is looking at Lin to direct the Bourne Legacy sequel. That film was recently announced by the trades and Jeremy Renner would be returning as Aaron Cross. Justin also has a slew of other films in the works including an American remake of Lone Wolf And Cub (Shogun Assassin).

There had been talk from the studio of trying to bring back Matt Damon/Jason Borune for a possible team-up film. Having Cross and Bourne working together for an installment. Since Damon and the studio have left the door open for Bourne to return. Nothing says this film will include that but it’s a possibility. Currently a script from Sherlock Holmes writer Anthony Peckham is being put together. I had my sights on Welcome To The Punch‘s Eran Creevy taking over directing duties for this sequel. That doesn’t seem to be case at this point but you never know with Lin. He does have a tendency to leave projects regularly.
