Joss Whedon Officially Signed to Write and Direct THE AVENGERS 2

It has just been revealed that The Avengers director, Joss Whedon, has officially signed on to write and direct the sequel to the third highest grossing film of all time!

After the success of The Avengers was there really any other choice for Marvel?

Disney also announced that Whedon would be involved in the development of the upcoming ABC live action TV series which will be in the same continuity as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What do you guys think? Great news, or do you think Whedon might struggle to recreate the magic of The Avengers first outing?

    I might be the only one not excited by this news. I thought the character interaction was interesting in the first one, but the storyline itself could have been more interesting (despite the fact taht they were more interested in the characters).

    I’m also not a fan of Whedon’s aesthetics. The world didn’t really look ‘lived in’, and veered too far towards camp for me.

    With all of that said, the flick was really good, but I’m just bothered by the look of it, which is something integral to Whedon’s direction.
