Josh Dallas Won’t Reprise His Role As Fandral In Thor 2; Zachary Levi To Replace Him?

The actor who played Fandral (one of the Warriors Three) in Thor last year, Josh Dallas, has confirmed that he won’t be reprising his role in Thor II due to his commitment to the TV show Once Upon a Time. The Warriors Three were portrayed very poorly in the movie last year which is a shame, as they’re much better characters than that. But I certainly won’t miss him. Unless they have anything important to do in the sequel, it’s not even worth keeping them despite they’re pretty big characters in Thor lore. Here’s what he told Entertainment Weekly below:

“I’ll be missing out on wearing all that hair! The timing wasn’t right. I’m bummed about it because I had such a great experience and great time making the first film and was really excited about coming back. Marvel and Disney tried to make it work. But because of my commitment to Once Upon a Time, I was not going to be able to do both. So I’ll have to hand the reins over to someone else. I love Marvel. I wish them all the best. I will certainly be first in line to see it. On the other hand, I’m going back to the best job on TV. I love it and can’t wait to delve in more.”

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter are saying that Marvel is in talks with the guy who was originally up for the role of Fandral, Zachary Levi. He had to turn down the role as he was appearing on the TV show Chuck at the time (ironic, isn’t it?) but “Levi’s talks are in at an early stage — negotiations have not yet begun, according to sources — but an offer is imminent,” says THR. Would you like to see Levi join the Warriors Three? Are you sad Dallas has left? Sound off below.
