Iron Man 3 Casts Another Villain…

Variety are reporting that Guy Pearce has been cast in the role of Aldrich Killian in next summer’s third Iron Man outing. Fans of the comics, namely the Extremis  story by Warren Ellis and my own favorite artist Adi Granov, will know that Killian is the man responsible for the nanotech that Tony Stark bonds with, giving him direct interfacing abilities with his armor through his own nervous system.

Pearce (Memento) joins Ben Kingsley as Mandarin, although it’s currently unknown if either actor has been officially cast as of yet or are still in the negotiation stage. Guy Pearce seems to be enjoying a boost in his career this year, already currently starring in Lockout, and part of an ensemble cast later this year in Ridley Scott’s quasi-Alien– prequel, Prometheus.
