Hans Zimmer Stole The Dark Knight Score?


After living through the recycled, grandiose musical scores of the 1990’s, I realized that most soundtracks are comprised of mostly rehashed stuff. That doesn’t mean that they should sound identical, but it does excuse the occasional similarity.

Well, youtuber JeromeVillarin was watching The Dark Knight for what must have been his 100th time the other day, when he noticed that there was something a little too familiar about Hans Zimmer’s score. He quickly rifled through the index of IMDB and tracked down a little known flick called Edith and Marcel which debuted in 1983. I don’t want to give away too much, so just take a listen to the video below:

I don’t want to accuse one of my favorite Hollywood composers of blatant plagiarism, but…it definitely seems like he stole that bit. What’d you guys think? Sound off in the comments section below.
