After months of nonchalantly popping Green Goblin into The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s trailers like he’d been announced for the movie months ago, Sony Pictures have finally let the cat out of the bag and released the first official picture of Dane deHaan’s Harry Osborn in full-on Green Goblin mode – pinning Spider-Man to the ground and grinning into the camera. This Green Goblin’s quite a looker, clearly. You can check it out below:
You can make your own judgment on Green Goblin’s new look, but for this writer it seems like whatever possessed the production team on Sam Raimi’s original 2002 movie to make Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin a plastic Power Ranger has got into this movie’s costume designers. Still, there’s plenty of new questions to chew on from this still – where does this scene take place? Why does Harry even turn Green Goblin anyway? And will someone please buy Gobby a tube of toothpaste?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits cinemas on May 2 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane deHaan, Paul Giamatti and Sally Field.
