Bill Murray be damned! Sony is moving forward with Ghostbusters 3 without him. The studio is looking at two young actors for the lead roles of Jeremy and Anna. They’re currently looking at Jonah Hill (This Is The End, Moneyball) and Emma Stone (Amazing Spider-Man 1-2) according SchmoesKnow. The pair blew-up around the same time thanks to their breakout film Superbad. Hill and Stone were trying to find another film to do together. Emma tried to do both The Sitter and 21 Jump Street but had other obligations. Leading her to exit both projects. Now that Sony has seen a lot of success from the two, it makes sense they’d want to pair them up again.

There’s no word on who these characters actually are. However, there has been talk that the film would see the original Busters (minus Bill) mentoring a new ghost hunting crew. Sound a lot like that this would be taking cues from Extreme Ghostbusters. It’s sort of funny to see Jonah being involved as Seth Rogen had been a fan favorite for a long time. Seth would go on to trash the idea and state the idea of third film was horrible. I’m curious if Stone’s involvement will help coax Bill to actually do his cameo. Emma and Bill did a fun Ghostbusters homage  in Zombieland. Which became a highlight of the movie.
