Eight Actors Up For Han Solo Role

Remember how more than two thousand actors were being auditioned for the role of Han Solo in his upcoming standalone film? Well, get ready to narrow that list down just a tad. We now have a list of just eight actors who are up for the part, and a number of them are putting to rest the rumor that Han Solo’s origin story would be helmed by an unknown name. The eight names are as follows:

Emory Cohen

Scott Eastwood

Ansel Elgort

Dave Franco

Blake Jenner

Logan Lerman

Jack Reynor

Miles Teller

Some of these names are naturally more recognizable than others, but they’ll all have their chance to test for the role within just a few days. It also looks like the chosen actor will be making a cameo appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so casting will have to commence rather quickly in order for this cameo to be filmed by the time Rogue One releases this December.

As far as the list is concerned, it’s a bit disconcerting to see certain names on here. Dave Franco and Miles Teller have always been rumored to be among those possibly chosen for the role, but seeing Franco’s name on the final shortlist is, well…you can think of a word for yourself. As much as I enjoyed his work on 21 Jump Street, that’s a far cry from the Star Wars universe. Picturing him as Han Solo is a bit more than I can bear.
