We have yet another name revealed to be writing one of Marvel’s new Netflix series. This time we have news concerning Jessica Jones‘ writer coming from THR. The show has been in development for ages. Originally, titled Aka Jessica Jones back when ABC was trying to put it together. Melissa Rosenberg (The O.C., Red Window) who was set to write the series back at ABC is now announced for it’s Netflix move. She might be best known for scripting the Twilight franchise but has some other decent writing credits. Rosenberg wrote eleven Dexter episodes and a few scripts for Birds of Prey. Not to mention is the writer of the Highlander reboot script.

“Jones is a private detective and former superhero who’d had a lackluster career and quit after suffering an incident that left her in a coma.”

Jones will eventually marry Luke Cage aka Power Man who will also be getting his own Netflix series. Which will lead to all the characters teaming-up for the The Defenders mini-series. I can’t say I’m familiar with the character but I have a feeling this could be a good match writer-wise. Rosenberg has a history of writing both crime and superheroes which is perfect for this show. Plus, we’ve seen that male writers have a tough time writing convincing female lead characters. Not everyone can be as awesome at writing female characters as Joss Whedon.
