Derek Luke Hints Towards Return To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

If you know your MCU movies back to front and inside out, then you’ll know that Derek Luke played Gabe Jones, one of the Howling Commandos in Captain America: The First Avenger. The actor was talking to MTV News at the Spirit Awards the other day, he teased the possibility of him playing a different character in a future Marvel movie. It’s possible that he’s talking about returning as his character Gabe Jones in a future Marvel movie (possibly The Avengers, as it was hinted by Chris Evans recently that at least one of his wartime buddies would return in the movie), but as Gabe’s most likely dead by now in terms of the timeline, don’t get your hopes up.

“It’s amazing what happens when you walk through one door, it opens so many of them. So what I’ll say is so many doors are open right now for me on that level and I’m just excited.”

“In the world of Marvel, you can be anybody at any time so what you see is not always what is. That’s all I have to say. I’m saying the door is wide open. And I’m excited.”
