Marvel recently announced that they’ll be putting together a Luke Cage series for Netflix. As writers for both Daredevil and Jessica Jones were revealed this week. We could be hearing development on the other two shows very soon. Before the new Power Man series was announced, there were a few actors linked for the role. They included Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Tyrese Gibson and Terry Crews (is less than enthused about playing Cage). Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa went so far as to put together his own promotional materials. For his own campaign to play Luke Cage. It’s possible that the character could transfer over to the MCU. Unlike the original non-canon supporting characters in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (it could happen but still unlikely). Since the Netflix announcement there haven’t been any new names campaigning for the role.

However, comedian Jordan Peele (Key And Peele) has voiced his own choice via Twitter. That being, character actor Mars Crain. Who, Jordan recently worked with on set. Mars has the look of the early Luke Cage comics and the stature needed to play Power Man. Crain has a couple of decent credits which include Hancock and a recent role in Paul W. Anderson’s Inherent Vice. Should Marvel consider an unknown for Luke Cage? Like they did when they cast Chris Hemsworth as Thor?

We have no idea what the aim or plot is for the Cage series. Things such as it’s time period and what other characters will be showing up. Not to mention if Luke will be already be in prison. Leading to the origin of his superpowers. Or, will we see Power Man already hitting the streets as a full fledged hero for hire?
