Chris Hemsworth Nearly Turned Down SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

When Chris Hemsworth was revealed to be in the running for the role of the Huntsman in this years blockbuster hit Snow White and the Huntsman, many believed that he would have to turn it down due to commitments to The Avengers. Obviously he didn’t, and eventually starred in the movie, but in an interview with The Sunday Times (via The Geek Files) the actor revealed that he was initially going to turn down the Huntsman – but not for The Avengers.

“My initial reaction was ‘I don’t want to do another fantastical film with a weapon that’s not too far from a hammer.'”

That may seem like a bit of a pathetic excuse, but Hemsworth goes on to explain why he decided not to turn it down in the end.

“Then I had a meeting with Rupert Sanders and I just kind of fell in love with what he had in mind. The idea was to make it different, much dirtier, rougher. We wanted to feel like he was a man of the forest and the earth.”
