Cap’s Shield Stolen In New CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLIDER Pictures

From what we’ve seen so far of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, you won’t find a better looking political thriller superhero spy movie. Okay, so maybe it’s the only movie that can really call itself that, but you have to admit that the upcoming sequel is shaping up to be awesome. Just check out these new pictures released by Empire Magazine.

Cap’s Super-Solider inspired costume still looks like a great blend of his traditional costume and a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform. Also, is it just me, or does Scarlett Johansson’s hair look redder than it did in the previous movies? Regardless, it’s cool that we’ll get to see Black Widow not only kicking ass again, but also doing more undercover work. The pic with Nick Fury and Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce has once again piqued my curiosity as to who Pierce actually is. I still believe there’s more to him than being a high ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. leader, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

However, that last picture has to be my favorite. We all saw that scene at the end of the trailer when Cap chases Winter Solider across the rooftops and throws his shield at him only for WS to turn around and catch it. That took place at night, so either WS runs off with it after their encounter, or the assassin will steal Cap’s most cherished tool at some other point in the movie. I’m also curious where the scorch marks on the shield came from. I mean, I know it goes through wear and tear, but you’d think Cap would have it refurbished after each mission to get it looking pristine again…and to get the blood stains off of it.
