BEETLEJUICE 2, Need We Say More?

It’s been 27 years but who cares? The world is almost ready for a sequel to Beetlejuice!

While on the road promoting his next feature, Big Eyes, which looks pretty awesome, Tim Burton sat down with Coming Soon for a chat. During the talk he revealed the status of his terror who, back in the day, was popular enough to get an animated series.

It’s a character that I love and I miss and I miss actually working with Michael [Keaton]. There’s only one Beetlejuice. We’re working on a script and I think it’s probably closer than ever and I’d love to work with him again.

I’m going to admit that I love the 1988 original. It terrified me while making me laugh at a young age and, as much as I don’t agree with unnecessary follow-ups, this is one I’d love to see. The realm of the Ghost with the Most deserves a modern touch with special effects that carry on the zany vision established so long ago.

But what say you my fellow fanboys and fangirls? Has the shelf-life for this one already expired? Or could this juice be worth one more squeeze?
