Are These Leaked Audition Tapes For INTERSTELLAR!?
Interstellar is a very secret movie. Christopher Nolan is a very secretive director. Both well-known facts, so this piece of news is quite frankly shocking. That is, if it’s true at all. The eagle-eyed nerds over at NolanFans have found two audition tapes on Youtube for Nolan’s sci-fi movie for a little girl named Tina.
Given the movie’s secrecy, part of me says that this is just a load of crap. However one of the girls here, Hannah Chassereau, has other audition tapes on her channel (you’ll see she has one for Tim Burton’s upcoming Big Eyes) which makes me believe it a little. So far the only known cast members are Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine with filming set to begin this August in Toronto. Check them out below:

Yeah… Those were pretty bad. Especially the second one. They also picked up that the first half of the dialogue is from Contact, another sci-fi movie that Kip Thorne was a part of (he was the genesis for Interstellar originally) and the rest seems to be original. Here’s what we can infer from the clip:
- Tina is a little girl who likes flying and may or may not be a part of the interstellar mission.
- Her grandfather is referred to repeatedly, which could possible be Caine’s character (probably).
- She says her dad is going somewhere to do something “stupid”, which makes me believe this is the daughter of Matthew McConaughey’s Cooper and this is before he goes off into space.
- This one’s pure speculation: could Tina be the younger version of Anne Hathaway’s character? Both girls have blonde hair (she’s been sporting a blonde hairstyle for about two weeks now) and Tina sounds like a name that suits Hathaway If so, this would be pretty damn great – when Cooper and the rest of the team travel through the wormhole he meets his daughter again but as a fully-grown woman now. Plus, unless her hair turns ginger when she becomes an adult it’s unlikely she’s a young Chastain.
As I previously said there’s most likely more chance this is a bunch of crap than there is of it being legit, but since we have so little to go on for the movie fans are picking apart every minuscule detail to keep themselves busy (there were pages and pages of forum discussions on Anne Hathaway’s new hair).
