ANT-MAN Director Edgar Wright Says NO NO NO To Armie Hammer Rumor

Yesterday the world wide interwebs was hit with a deluge of news regarding Armie Hammer and a certain bug-themed hero from Marvel’s Phase 2 flicks. We thought for that brief period of time that Mr. Hammer, also known as DJ Hammer when he’s scratching the vinyl (MC was already taken), would portray that superhero on the silver screen, since he was spotted visiting the set of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER with Ant-Man director Edgar Wright. When our friends at Screen Rant talked to Hammer about the incident, he played a pretty transparent “I have no idea what you’re talking about” card.

Well, Wright’s since refuted that bit of gossip in a series of Tweets, but we should remain cautious. The curly hair Brit has lied in the past about this type of inside information, and Armie Hammer’s reaction to Screen Rant was pretty weird/bizarre/uncouth.

As I’ve said, Wright’s been known to mislead fans in the past, so we can’t take his Tweets at face value. And to be quite frank, Unless Ant-Man is given proper A-list treatment, I would much prefer if Armie Hammer took his skills elsewhere… perhaps to the Justice League movie?
