TEEN TITANS GO! “Artful Dodgers” Review

Do you like dodgeball? Do you like watching it? Do you like seeing people get pummeled while trying to play it? Well, this episode of Teen Titans Go is for you! Spoilers.

In “Artful Dodgers“, Robin (Scott Menville), Cyborg (Khary Payton), and Beast Boy (Greg Cipes) are stoked for an upcoming dodgeball tournament that they are in. They’re the reigning champs (although this might have something to do with them always playing against little kids), and they are determined to win this year too.

Unfortunately, the Titans seem more interested in practicing their victory dance then the actual game, and they refuse to let Raven (Tara Strong) or Starfire (Hynden Walch) play, due to past….offences. Still, the Titans are confident…until they get whipped by the H.I.V.E. Five. Can the Titans beat them in a re-match?

Victory Dance Time!

This episode is really easy to watch, and it feels short. It never drags on, and most of the jokes, if they don’t make you laugh, will at least make you nod your head. With all that said…I wouldn’t call it “great”. I guess it wasn’t the funniest episodes of the show. Still, don’t get me wrong, it was still fun.

Seeing Robin and co. get so over-confident, and then get knocked down a peg makes for entertaining scenes, and I liked how the Titans would always go chibi when they would yell “DODGEBALL STYLE!”

The actual games were fun, and as usual, the voice acting continues to show up many other animated comedies.

Once again, the show chooses a message, and then stomps on it. Early in the episode, the Titans inform the H.I.V.E. that cheaters never prosper….but when the Titan’s championship title is in jeopardy, they decide to win through cheating. The results, which I won’t spoil, are spectacular, and lead up to another humorous ending.

Okay, this episode maybe wasn’t the best one, but it was fun, and I can’t think of much flaws at all. So watch it. And maybe play some dodgeball afterwards.
