The Pound: Ghouls Night Out #4 Review

The mini-series comes to an end, but is the conclusion worth the price of admission?

Here is the summary from IDW:

The ghoul uprising is foiled. The Council of Four is saved. Howie finally tells his fiance what he and Scottie are doing at work, and none of this turns out to be a good thing for the guys as we wrap up the second series of The Pound.

The Pound: Ghouls Night Out comes to an end with Scottie, Howie, & agent Prufrock taking the fight to the ghouls. what results is a pretty satisfying conclusion that wraps up the mini-series quite well. There is a battle between the ghouls & the some of the monsters that are being led by one of the captured Council of Four. The twist near the end of the book is also done well, as t opens up the comic to more stories.

Stephan Nilson does a good job of giving a worthwhile conclusion to the story. Wrapping up the plot threads nicely, and while there are a few confusing bits, it certainly nothing to turn you off of the story. The dialogue is done well, character interaction is organic and there are bits of humor sprinkled in to added delight. Also giving a bit of suspense when the real mastermind behind the Ghoul’s actions is revealed.

Ibrahim Moustafa’s art is still done well in this book. Each of the creatures have their own unique look and fell to them. The action scenes (while not featured much) are also done well in the spots they are featured. He adds suspense to the script with his pencils which tells the story well without overshadowing it.

The Pound: Ghouls Night Out, is a pretty good mini-series with good action, characters and mystery. With another series of The Pound out of the way, I have to say that I will be waiting for the next volume. Recommended.
