Teen Titans Return

Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven, and Cyborg are returning to Cartoon Network in a new half-hour series called “Teen Titans GO!” It’s been six years since the original “Teen Titans” ended, but the teenage heroes have recently appeared in a series of comedic shorts as part of Cartoon Network’s DC Nation programming block, airing during commercial breaks from “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” and “Young Justice”. The new series will utilize the same chibi style seen in the shorts and occasionally in the original series.

As with the shorts, the new series will be predominantly comedic. Here’s the official description from Cartoon Network:

“Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the super hero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. They may be super heroes who save the world every day … but somebody still has to do the laundry! With the ability to turn into any animal or detach their robotic limbs, teenage pranks reach a whole new level. And even super heroes have to take Driver’s Ed. to get a license – especially after wrecking the Batmobile on an unauthorized joy ride to impress a girl!”

The original voice cast will return, with Scott Menville as Robin, Tara Strong as Raven, Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Hynden Walch as Starfire, and Khary Payton as Cyborg. Original “Teen Titans” alumnus Sam Register will serve as Executive Producer, with Michael Jelenic of “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” and Aaron Horvath of “MAD” as producers.

“Teen Titans GO!” is set to premiere in 2013.
