Pop #4 Review

With the world creating superficial celebrities, we must wonder what would happen if one escaped before being programmed? That is the point of this series but with epic conclusion finally here, what will happen.

The official description from Dark Horse:

Captured within the Cartel’s lair, Elle and Coop fight for their minds, bodies, and souls! Can they escape and take down the Cartel as their diabolical reach extends farther than anyone could have imagined? Can Elle transcend her programming? Can you? Find out in the explosive final issue of POP!

POP-4-PG-09-87c33The world has become a shallow wasteland of sexy people and now we are trying to set that world on fire. Well, not you or I, but Elle and Coop. That is where this issue happens and we see the ending of a pretty interesting story. Elle was captured and it looked like the end of her but then an ally comes to her rescue. The head of the department is not very happy with this revolution. He is the worse villain I have seen in a while. Along with that, we get to see some one that has a change of heart after being the catalyst and scientist behind some the nefarious plot. It is a very fast and cool issue that brings up a lot of issues and makes us as an audience face it.

Curt Pires is a very neat writer and created a crazy world with tons of interesting concepts behind it. It does have some social commentary behind it and really does some cool things. You can really relate to it.

Jason Copland is a great artist that brings this crazy world to light. It is really a swell thing that he can do this world that is like our own but more stylized. I really did enjoy looking at the comic.

Pop #4 has a great ending to a unique series.
