Repossessed #4 Review

The case is coming to a close, but there are just a few loose ends for the Dee Agency to tie up. Can they finish strong without being killed first?

Here is the summary from Image:

The miniseries ends with a bang and a boom when the repo from Dee Agency learn way more than they bargained for and are left to decide on a trip to the West Coast to face the biggest threat they have ever encountered!

Beelzebuth (Lord of the Flies) has emerged from Sarah’s father and he is not happy. After fighting off Orobas, he turns his attention’s to our intrepid repo men. With no other choice Martha releases her own demon, Gremory. When that also proves ineffective the group heads toward Cali in order to protect the demon’s target, Arthur Daltrey. When they get there they find out that they maybe in over their heads.

Despite JM Ringuet‘s best efforts, the story still is a bit choatic. This doesn’t mean the issue was a bad one, just confusing. The whole bit with Martha having a demon of her own was interesting, but there was really no build up leading to it so it comes completely out of left field. Which makes the battle between Gremory & Beelzebuth more awkward. How she came to be possessed and just how she deals with it are never really touched upon. Arthur Daltrey is clearly a front for a more powerful demon (which isn’t a detriment I’m just stating the story flow) but it’s not clear if we are supposed to care about him; he seems like a big deal based on his introduction, but it doesn’t really matter since he is just there to reveal the last demon.

The art is still good. The demon designs are well drawn, especially the big bad at the end. The colors are still a bit on the bright side, but it’s nothing too extreme. So the book is still nice to look at.

All in all Repossessed was an enjoyable series, but it started to fall apart near the end. While it had some good ideas, the execution was off in places and alot of random events happening with no explanation bogged the story down. The last page was interesting however if a  bit bittersweet, and hopefully this story will be able to continue in some capacity someday.
