Original Sin #4 Review

With the Watcher dead, everybody’s sins are coming to fruition and none of the superhero’s are safe.

Everyone is a suspect and no one is safe. Only now, after the shocking ending of Original Sin #3 – all trails lead directly to the prime suspect. Is that who killed the Watcher? But why? And how is that even possible?Meanwhile, the Marvel Universe’s most unlikely duo of the Punisher and Doctor Strange team up for a daring raid that could help save the universe – or destroy it. As even more bodies turn up, the Avengers, the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and more will ask themselves – who’s next? Trust no one. Not even yourself.

With the ending to the last issue, I couldn’t wait to read this issue and I Original-Sin-4-Adams-Interlocking-Variant-50c81was not disappointed. The story opens up with everyone coming to realizations about what is going on in their universe and the seriousness of the situation. Dr. Strange and The Punisher quickly come to terms with this and head to a spaceship that may hold some answers. Meanwhile, you have Gamora and her team doing the same but they realize that there may be a traitor in their mists. Along, with that Emma Frost and Black Panther know something is wrong but they can’t pin point it so they, also, go to this mysterious ship that seems to be calling our hero’s. It isnt exactly clear how all of them know to get to the ship but they do. At first, no one trusts anyone and a battle ensues between the different teams of hero’s but when the issue ends is when we and the hero’s find out something bigger is going on. You will be pleasantly surprised especially when they have the reveal.

The writing for this issue is fantastic. Jason Aaron does an amazing job of bringing us closer to the the end of the story but still makes us guess what is going to happen next. It is something that doesn’t happen easily. I did have one issue with this story and that it is that it is trying do so much and sometimes loses its focus which can be a little frustrating but it is still very good.

The art is really a highlight in this issue. With so many different places and so may different people being portrayed, you could get lazy but Mike Deodato doesn’t make that mistake. Every panel feels carefully laid out and really does a great job.

Original Sin #4 is a must read, even though it tends to lose its focus.
