Nancy In Hell (On Earth) #3 Review

Is this exploitation comic worth your hard earned money?  Read on to find out.

The official description from Image:

The whole world will be annihilated and consumed by Hell. And the Angels want to cut out that cancer… and that means to destroy the Earth. Nancy and Lucifer must join forces with their worst enemy, Mr. Macabre, to stop Gabrielle… and the nuclear devices she’s ready to detonate.

This comic has a simple enough story, but let’s be honest the people who are going to buy this book are not reading this title for the story.  The people who pick up this series know exactly what they’re getting out of it.  This is an exploitation piece, that stars a hot girl with a chainsaw that has literally been to Hell and back.

The script is goofy, convoluted and pointless.  El Torres is cleary writing this book for the zaney fun of it, while not attempting to offer readers anything more than a distraction.  There is violence, corny dialogue and pointless conversations that do little more than stall the violence.  To be fair narrative quality shouldn’t mean that much here, but if you’re trying to sell a story like this the script needs to be engaging enough to hold a reader’s attention from start to finish, but sadly that didn’t happen here.

The art in this comic is beautiful as Enrique Lopez Lorenzana gives readers a solid reason to open this comic book and give it a go.  All the characters are detailed expertly, the world is gorgouse, and the violent carnage is drawn superbly.  If you ignore the script and just look at the pretty pictures this comic is almost a worthwhile buy.

Nancy In Hell (On Earth) #3 is a mess, taken down by a mediocre to terrible script that happens to sport some very nice art.  But sadly the nice art doesn’t save this book, it condemns it.  This comic book is not recommended.
